Hi, there! I was holding off on a kiriban for now, because I wanted to make sure that the prize would actually be something nice and something that is actually in our hands. Think of this as a thanks for sticking around for so long!

So here it goes:

WHAT'S UP FOR GRABS?
You will receive a shiny, new, finally-here Gentlemon shirt! Our printers have confirmed that they have been shipped and will probably be here by 3/29.
See it here if you forgot what it looked like:

HOW CAN I GET IT???
The kiriban winner will be chosen from either sending a note to my DA account including a screencap of one of two things:
1) My Deviantart account reaching 35,000 pageviews
2) The Dango Dewdrop Facebook Page reaching 150 likes (You have to have liked the page too!)
Whichever comes first.

This means that you have a chance to win when our Facebook page reaches 150 likes but my pageviews is still well below 35k views or vice versa.
BUT if heavens forbid that everyone misses the first, then you still have a chance with the other!

No cheating! And good luck!

I made it as clear as I could, but post any questions you have!

HI. I'm not dead. I've been pretty busy and will be busy until probably next Tuesday because of deadlines and such! Anyway, I just wanted to say here that we will be at Kawaii Kon again! It's been quite awhile since our first convention, now and it's been so great! Here's a map to show you where we are:

I won't always be at the table, but I hope to be able to put some faces to usernames! And yes, we actually have a table this time, unlike last year (where we were essentially off the grid). All in all, I just wanted to tell you guys where we will be this weekend with all our wares. Enjoy buying stuff... shipping free, of course! (see what I did there?)

Also, if you tell me your DA name during the con, I can, like, draw you a little something and post it here? o_o Mini-freebie giveaway 4 mah 808homeboiz. **If I'm not at the table when you come by, just write it down on a paper and give it to the person at the table and tell them to give it to me. <3

I'll update after the weekend is up and talk about other stuff

Okay, I don't know if it's just that classes are just getting harder, or I chose my classes badly, probably the former. But anyway, it sounds like another year of a pretty busy schedule. Last semester was research-, reading-, and writing-heavy. This time, it's around the same. I'm taking my first science and lab class in college (...y-yay?) After this, I won't have to do any more, assuming that I pass the class and lab.

All of my classes this semester are reading-heavy. Even my art classes are require me to read and spend time outside of class to work on projects. :T IMO, if there isn't at least some adequate time to work on a project in class, then the list of projects assigned should be cut down. I don't think I will like this painting class because it's all about the abstract and I'm more of an observational painter. We'll see. *fingers crossed*

And that's not my worst class.

I'll spare you my gripes of school, since I'll probably get used to them eventually.

I hope you're having a better school year than I am~

In other news, TV shows are coming back and I'm really happy they are. I was so lost without them.

I don't think I'll be on tomorrow, so I'm wishing you all a Merry Christmas a day early!
It's been pretty crazy in my household. We've been haphazardly shopping for people and we still have a few on our list that just end in shrugs and confusion. Since today's the last day, I guess we have to figure it out soon. Just a few days ago, I was bored out of my mind, so much that I cleaned half my room because I had nothing better to do.

Anyway, I hope you all are well, living well, eating well, and spend lots of times with the ones you care about. Remember, will be available after Christmas up until the end of the year. Then they will be put away until next year... if we have any left. We didn't order a whole lot.

If you haven't voted for I'd really appreciate if you did. You don't even have to create an account, if you have a Facebook account!

ALSO: have been brought back to the shop, by popular demand!

Tumblr's down, so I'm here.

\o/ Today is the first day of Winter Break for me! It's been a hard semester full of a LOT of typing and printing of papers, not to mention all the reading I had to do! Fortunately, I've come out of the woods unscathed and ready to re-focus on DeviantArt-related stuff. So you should really look forward some Secret Santa and a holiday deviation. ;D

Also, I plan to actually post my traditional stuff on the Artsion account.

So sorry about the Dango Dewdrop-related stuff that's happening. We've been having a bit of drama with our manufacturers and everything is getting delayed because of the huge influx of orders that they have. So basically they are backed up, which consequently makes us backed up and deadlocked. It makes me really sad, because we had such good things for you guys for Christmas! ; -;

Maybe next year.

Hey hey hey! How's everyone been? *no answer* GREAT! ME TOO!

This week has been especially busy. I've been interviewing people for my research project for one of my classes and that takes quite a bit of organizing. I'm so grateful for such enthusiastic volunteers! Needless to say, some were better than others. Maybe I'm just fishing for the results I want, but I think some understood the questions easier than others. ^_^; Anyway, if you ever have the chance, never propose that you will record people talking and transcribe the entire interview. Why? Because 1) I hate my voice and cringe at every time I spoke and 2) typing fingers, although quicker than writing longhand, are not as quick as the mouth. A lot of the transcription process was listen, pause, write, play, pause, write, rewind, play, pause, write, rewind, rewind, play. So glad that that's over. -_-

I also haven't posted anything on my ~Artsion account because I've been too lazy/ busy to photograph my traditional stuff, so I will make an effort to do so at the end of the year. Lots of naked people. I'm really enjoying Life Painting a lot more than drawing. :'D But there's only one level for Life Painting, so I guess I have to take Life Drawing. ; -;

Business things: Time to get ready for the winter rush! December is probably my favorite month, though it has finals, so yeah... a wide range of emotions come mid-December. Just as a reminder: pre-orders for the Gentlemon Shirt is closing on Nov 19 (next Monday!) We've also been working on new charms, so they may become the super special free gift that comes with your pre-orders! They're also coming in small batches, so we might run out giving them to pre-orders and have none left over! Talk about exclusive~
On that note: there will also be new charms that you can purchase on its own and some will be winter-themed~ So that's something to look forward to. I'll release them later, and they will be available for purchase as soon as we get them, which is around the first half of December.

I hope you're all well. <3

Hi guys! We're so glad with the extremely positive response to our upcoming shirt:
This really makes us inspired to keep doing what we love. I don't think I could ever get to the front page so soon without Gentlemon!

Anyway, I just wanted to give a warm welcome to the many new watchers. Hi, I hope you don't unwatch me because of this journal! >_<;;

Now to what I wanted to actually cover:
Remember this?
Well, Squishable.com has started voting for the first round of designs and yours truly is in this round! I really would appreciate you going to the website and voting here: [link] I have stiff competition since there's another Kappa design. It's really easy to vote. I know people don't like to create accounts that they will never use again, so I'd like to point out that you can log in via Facebook (and most of you have Facebook). If you don't have a Facebook account, you'll have to make an account. It's not so bad, you're just that much closer to buying some of the awesome stuff they have at Squishable.com!

Thank you~!

I made a poll, and I did the opposite of the popular vote. Sorry! But then again, I don't know most of you anyway, so doesn't matter. :'D

Long story short, I made another account dedicated to my traditional stuff. There's nothing there right now, but here's the account: :iconartsion:

Long story long
I've been debating on this for awhile since it is starting from scratch and I know how it is to feel unloved at the beginning with no watchers. ;-; In hopes that you don't hate me too much for making you follow another account just to see traditional art, I'll give you my rationale.
1) Relevance: A lot of my followers came when Gentlemon went viral, or at least near-to-viral. That said, they're only here for one thing and one thing only: to hear news about the business. The new account will cut down on the "spam" in their feeds also known as my deviations that can't be bought. I know how it is to watch someone for only part of what they submit to their gallery only to be disappointed with something else.
2) Consistency: Oh please, like I'm known for my consistent flow of art with a consistent style and crap. Not really. But when I go through my gallery, the glaring interims of traditional art look really weird. At first, I liked it because it was sort of a documented timeline of what I did over the years. Yeah, it's great, only if I keep it up and photograph my traditional stuff and post it immediately after I complete it. This is almost never the case, mostly out of laziness. lol.
3) Organization: This sort of goes along with the Consistency point, but yeah. I find it really strange that one folder has traditional stuff while the rest is full of uguu anime chibis and Pokemon. It's just nice to begin anew with an empty gallery to fill with more stuff.

Anyway, I didn't mean any disrespect by creating the account! +Follow it, if you're interested, ignore this journal altogether if you don't care.

I'll add to this journal about what's happening IRL tomorrow. -_-

I guess by now you're wondering how my school year is? Hah, yeah. Like anyone cares.

Well for those that do, this year isn't going to be my favorite, to put it lightly. It's very reading-heavy and writing-heavy. Three of my classes are guaranteed my 100% focus just for research and writing while the other two are either studio or lab classes. What does that mean? Everyone wants my complete attention and they all take time to handle. I might even have to interview some people and stuff. An introvert's nightmare. With that said, let's just say that I don't plan on doing a whole lot of art this semester. At least not digitally. Maybe to compensate, I'll post my paintings I'm doing this semester just so I have something to put in the Year in Summary meme in December. Hopefully I'll try and do a Halloween picture and a Christmas one. Everything else will be pushed onto the back burners to forever burn and stew until next semester.

It's actually been pretty chill the last week or two. It's the calm before the storm. The way I cope is that I use these nights of freedom to watch all of Modern Family. I'm in the middle of Season 2. Have you watched that show? It's da bomb. It's so funny omg yes to the whole family. ; u;

Have a happy school year!

Hi there! So that Fourth of July journal is long past being pertinent, so I decided to write a personal journal here in its place.

I finished summer school at the end of June and have been spending the last month doing nothing but lounging around doing practically nothing. It's fine in the first few weeks, but really, it starts to get to me after awhile. I feel so unproductive doing nothing and I'm having all the art blocks. -_-;;

So I moved to Gaia for a few freebies and commissions for fake money. It was quite nice to have a specific subject shoved in your face rather than coming up with something.

And then I started playing Monster Galaxy.

It essentially is Pokemon, but buggier and unnecessarily complex. Instead of elements like fire, water, and earth, they use the astrological constellations like Libra, Aries, and Capricorn. And those constellations have their own respective elements, but some share the same elements and it's all omg I don't have the time to understand. But what gets me is how cute the Moga are. LOOK AT IT: [link] TELL ME THAT THAT'S NOT CUTE. But then they have things like [link] and then I question their sanity.

It's a nice game since it's basically Pokemon with more cute and more scary monsters. Also, you can download it on Android and iOS phones as well as play it on Facebook.

So yeah... Maybe I'll do some Moga Fanart... o_o not sure.
HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY, EVERYONE. To all the Americans, it's time to celebrate our independence! But we're no stingy goats when it comes to celebrations.

Today and tomorrow, July 4th and 5th, all items will be shipped at half the price!!!
EVEN THE POKE-DON PREORDERS!

Hey, sorry it's been so long since I've updated my journal. It took my brother to point out that the recent journal is a tad out of date and obsolete. So this is how this will go down:

DANGO DEWDROP/ BUSINESS

So in my recent deviation, I did say that there was something new to come to prove that I'm not just going out and about doing nothing. Right now, you are able to pre-order one of our t shirts that will be available in the shop. The shirt? Poke-don! (short for Pokemon Donburi) Donburi is a Japanese "rice bowl dish" consisting of fish, meat, vegetables or other ingredients simmered together and served over rice. Back with the puns!

PRE-ORDER HERE

Also, check back in a few weeks, and you will see our other t-shirt that will be available for pre-order!

PERSONAL

I have been in summer school for the last 4 weeks and will finish in 2. Both of them are relatively easy going classes; only have to worry about three midterms for one class and three midterms, 2 compositions, and an oral for the other. It's been pretty lax but every other week requires my focus to memorize 20-30 art pieces and their information while also memorizing vocab and whatever else you do for a foreign language class. I'll have less to do after this coming Monday and even less two weeks from now.

Hey, sorry for the lack of updates. (Or... you're welcome for the lack of spam in your feeds?)

Anyway, there hasn't been much that I felt you needed to know. Most of my time is watching TV and doing homework and whatnot. I don't really have anything to post since there isn't adequate time to make a quality deviation.

KK'12 is coming up, so get ready all of y'all in Hawaii. This year will probably be interesting since I won't have a partner to keep me company while making sales and saying hello to window shoppers that act like scared deer. Though it would be to your benefit if you came and checked us (me?) out at our table! You might find a little somethin-somethin that you will like. Somethin'... new? cheap? special? Plus, if you buy at KK, you won't have to pay for shipping!

Here are the benefits of buying from us at KK:
-Free shipping, no shipping (see what I did there?)
-Guaranteed that your charms won't be damaged/ broken upon arrival to your hands
-Minimal wait time; a few minutes tops compared to 7-14 days excluding Sundays
-See the charms close up, know what you're buying before you buy it
-No fussing with Paypal transactions
-Last but not least, meet me. :U You're welcome.

*more to come when KK gets closer*

Hello again!

Ever since school started, I really haven't had much time to do much artwork... This semester is definitely going to be harder than the last. I actually have homework this time around. But that really doesn't concern you. The most "art" that I have done so far is doodle in my sketchbook and also designing some... stuff. I won't tell you all what is going to happen in the relatively far future, but I really hope that you guys will like it. It really kills me not to talk about it or submit it to DA, but it's necessary due to business reasons.

I hope you all are well and healthy. I ask that you all pray for Chef from Cookingwithdog. She recently was caught in an accident while riding her bike and had to be flown to ICU. If you haven't experienced the delightful how-to videos on Japanese cooking on youtube, you need to get on that! Cookingwithdog without Chef would just be... Dog.

Well I just finished Tingle, ending the Hipster Holidays series. I can't believe I almost made it on time every day (other than the 10th, 11th, and 12th days). I guess I shoulda prepared more, though I got to the point of having to finish a whole picture (from sketch to signature) in one day. With that said, the constant anxiety of a deadline on my tail every day got me through it all. And hey, they don't look half bad, right? They aren't as HQ as other stuff I would do, but it was quite interesting to do for 12 days. I can't say that I'll do it again, though. ._.;;

Why this wasn't a good idea:
1) Not many people seemed to look at what I was doing
2) Reference pictures are very limited when you choose low-exposure characters.
3) After around 5 drawings, you run out of full body poses...

Anyway, I'll figure out what I will do next Christmas, but thanks for celebrating the 12 Days of Christmas with me!

:iconsmilederpplz: Pluff
Merry Christmas to those who celebrate Christmas today!

So today marks the first of the 12 Days of Christmas, which is not a commonly-celebrated holiday anymore. Anyway, from Wiki research, it starts on Christmas day (Dec 25) and spans through until Jan 5 or 6th, depending on the culture. Mine will end on the 5th.

A little more about it:
There will be a submission every day that will be posted of characters that I deem not popular, but also not that obscure. Sort of an ode to those who don't get fanart. Anyway, I chose these characters because I have either played their game or read their manga or watched their anime. I didn't want things so obscure that I didn't know because then drawing them wouldn't really mean anything to me. So yeah. I haven't drawn and colored all 12 yet, and hopefully I can keep up. If not, I'm deeply sorry. Drawing a whole picture in one day is tough. ^^;;

Happy Horidays

PERSONAL LIFE/ DECEMBER
I just finished my final final project tonight and now I can progress on my big plans for this month! \(o_o)/ I will reveal what my big plans are next week sometime. I still have to work on, like, half of the whole project. Anyway, so you can look forward to that. (then I can actually put something in the December slot for my year summary of art) Exciting, right?

The Mockingjay, Kecleon, and Arceus charms have been shipped out from Austin, TX, so they'll come back in around a week. HUGE apologies for making everyone wait so long! There were some issues with the files and they'd be all messed up and we'd be out hundreds of dollars.
Also, USPS has been very abusive with the charms we've sent out resulting in crazy breakage. If you bought anything from the time since Black Friday, your stuff have been withheld in the interest to try and figure out how to package charms so that they end up in one place.

Think about it this way: would you rather a speedy package with a broken charm which will be sent back and we will send you another one essentially DOUBLING the traveling time, or have a slower package that will get to you safely?
